Musical sounds differ in the following ways:
1.Duration
2.Pitch
3.Accent
4.Intensity
5.Tone
Duration - The length of a sound, which in music is measured in beats. In
all music there are regular beats. The length of a sound means how many beats, or what fraction of a beat, it lasts.
Pitch - is the height or depth of a sound.
Accent - means stress or emphasis; some sounds are more strongly
accented than others.
Intensity - means the degree of loudness or softness.
Tone - means the quality of a sound. The tone of the sound produced by
a clarinet differs from that of a saxophone, and both differ from that produced by a guitar or trumpet.
The above is shown on paper in the form of 'Musical Notation'
